Patient Stories
William Cummings
William Cummings is a retired U.S. Navy veteran who was treated with the mild® procedure in September of 2012. For years, he had suffered from back pain and had managed his discomfort through acupuncture, steroid injections, and chiropractic care. On a scale of zero to 10, his pain was at a 10; conservative therapies for William were merely masking the pain and not treating the underlying issue—his lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). His physician recommended the procedure because it would target the root of the problem, and after confirming his diagnosis through an MRI, William was treated with the mild® procedure.
William said the procedure itself was so minimally invasive that he was completely comfortable being awake and alert during it and was untroubled by post-surgical issues. “The incision was so small I didn’t even realize it was there.” He returned home the same day and felt improvement within a few hours.
William recommended mild® to family members and friends, and continues to praise the outcomes he experienced personally. While he still occasionally uses a cane, having the mild® procedure improved William’s mobility and function, and helped him stand longer and walk farther—which gave him back his quality of life.
